The New Brighton Police Division is dedicated to making life in the community safe through crime prevention, enforcement and animal control. The New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department wants you and your family to have fun at one of the many area parks. That is why the department is dedicated to keeping the parks and natural areas as clean and inviting as they can be. The Parks and Recreation Department is also in charge of various other activities in the community, including the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, the St. Anthony Village High School Pool Program, the area's fitness center and much more. All of these facility and programs are designed to create a healthier New Brighton and teach young and old residents alike about fun and effective ways of taking care of their bodies. Currently, there are three licensed trash haulers for New Brighton residents. They include Ace Solid Waste Management, Allied Waste and Red Arrow. The community participates in a "two-sort recycling" program in which your recyclables are collected at your curb every other week. All you have to do is separate your recyclables into their proper containers and placed at your curbside by 7:00 am on the morning of pickup. You can separate different recyclables into paper bags and place them in the same recycle bin as well. Recycle bins are available for purchase at City Hall for only $10 each and you can also get a brochure that explains the trash and recycling program in New Brighton. The Eagle's Nest Indoor Playground is the perfect place to take your young kids when the weather outside is cold, rainy or snowy. This facility is an exciting place where your kids can enjoy colorful ball pits, climbing walls and even a reading corner. The Eagle's Nest Indoor Playground is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 and it is open to kids up t age 12.
